Based on bloood sugar test conducted on me, the doctor said that I am a borderline diabetic.
There is such a thing as being a borderline diabetic. The deal is, your sugar is high, but not high enough to classify you as actually having diabetes. You can have symptoms which would be mild or you may not be able to tell at all. Diabetes runs in my family – my father in law and my sister in law both are borderline diabetics who control their sugar with their diet. As long as they eat healthy foods – they stay away from white foods (like apples, pears, corn, potatoes, pasta, rice, bread – white foods turn into sugar when your body breaks them down.) They also stay away from direct sugars like candy and ice cream and they do just fine. Neither of them take insulin or even have a prescription for any. They just do a finger prick once a day to make sure their sugar is OK and that is about it.
The website below will tell you more about Diabetic Diet and what you should and should not be eating to help you control it. Hope this helps!
