I’m 21 years old. … I’m 21 years old. My grandparents are diabeting and I just wanted to know if I am at risk aswell. Thing is I eat ALOT of chocolate, but I have only been doing this for about a year, does this mean that even if I start eating healthy tomorow its too late for me and eventually ill become diabetic? What age do you even become diabetic?
Yes, Grave’s … Yes, Grave’s disease may trigger gluconeogenesis (producing new glucose) and cause hyperglycemia (high blood glucose level.) Repeated and acute or chronic hyperglycemia can wipe out the pancreas and develop type 1 diabetes. Robert Su, M.D.
Stay off the … Stay off the hormone-loaded dairy and meat. Your pancreas will appreciate it. But no pharmaceutical company wants you to know this….
Check out the video on You Tube where some diabetics went raw for 30 days with Woody Harrelson. Results were fantastic.
While I do not deny … While I do not deny genetics plays a role in developing Type 1 diabetes mellitus, I strongly believe and suggest both type 1 and type 2 diabetes mellitus are caused by diets. We can prevent them from happening and can manage them by diets for either cure or at least less dependence on medications and insulin. Read Carbohydrates Can Kill for the answer. Good luck. Robert Su, M.D.
All carbohydrates … All carbohydrates except fibers are absorbed to become blood sugars. Proteins can be broken down and converted into blood glucose, so called “catabolism.” Fats can be broken down to glycerol and fatty acids. The fatty acids with even number of carbons can be converted into blood glucose. The conversion of both proteins and fats into glucose is gluconeogenesis. Please read Carbohydrates Can Kill for answers and information. Robert Su, M.D.
I hear you. I was … I hear you. I was diagnosed only two weeks ago. Was very off, seeing how I didn’t eat garbage foods. I drank myself to diabetes. It is alright now though. I take glipizide and metformin morning and night.
One of the first … One of the first sentences in this video is incorrect:
‘All the foods that are eaten; carbohydrates, proteins and fats; are converted to glucose, commonly known as blood sugar’
Carbohydrates are digested/converted to become blood glucose. Proteins are broken down into amino acids and fats(/lipids) to fatty acids and glycerol. Although lipids etc. can be respired they are never ‘blood sugars.’
If this video is for education I think you should alter it. Thank you
