Jay Cutler has Type 1 diabetes will it effect him playing football?
Cutler has Type 1 diabetes, and this is very serious. I know it sounds greedy to be concerned about football right now, but how bad is this? I know there are a few others that have been able to compete, but honestly what are the chances he will be able to continue as a starting nfl quarterback?
ACCORDING TO ESPN NO…SCOTT VAN PELT SAID IT IS NOT SERIOUS ..SO OBVIOUSLY NOT…GO SPORTSCENTER!!!

Its not his diabeties he has to worry about, its the O-line, o well we will get better. But seriously if he keeps it under check (wich he has) it won’t effect him. GO BRONCOS. but ya. he will be fine and dandy

He will continue to play QB at a high level. Having type 1 diabetes is going to make him be more concious of what he eats and taking his insulin injections. Those are things that he can do and still function at a high level as a football player. I have worked with people who have type 1 diabetes and they functioned at the same high level as the rest of us. As long as they monitor their diet life goes on without missing a beat.

he’s not the first athlete with this. he will be fine. he just needs to get his blood sugar normal, when it gets low, a simple Gatorade can bring it up. when it gets high, i lil needle will fix it. it take 5 seconds

Its not going to help dude, if he can battle it then he is going to be great. as the team leader, you must remain calm, and i see cutler dealing with this problem aa a man of the same caliber as his playing (hope he does great!)

He will be ok. Usually doesn’t affect younger people with a healthy diet.

if he were type 2 then yes it would probably effect his career but he’s only type 1. like everyone above me said if he takes care of himself he’ll be fine.

Nah, but his lack of talent seems to affect him.
