All I’m saying is Bullies can pick on you for other reasons & it’s not right, but I enjoyed the video.

    I also have type 1. …
I also have type 1. You are right, no one should hide their insulin, it is nothing to be ashamed about. I do not like the distinction either. My dad has Type 2 and it is not any better for them. And it is parcily heretitary too.

  9. DiabetesGirl3145 Says:

I think it is rediculous that your boss told you that. I think doing injections in public is fine. Good for you for quiting the job!

I compleatly agree with you. BTW, hows the OmniPod? My doc is going to put me on either the OmniPod or the Minimed in august. I am soooooo exited.

  11. DiabetesGirl3145 Says:

    What is wrong with …
What is wrong with give yourself insulin in public? you should not feel that you need to hide your desease and not worry about what other people think. I always inject insulin in places like resuraunts. There is nothing wrong with it.

  12. kelliwisethebrave Says:

    The problem is that …
The problem is that bathrooms are not clean…and no one should be forced to do injections there. I would agree that you shouldn’t do injections in certain areas in public but what’s wrong with injecting in your arms, legs (if wearing shorts) or stomach, especially if you’re discrete about it? luckily I no longer have to use insulin pens or syringes since I got an insulin pump (omni pod). I just use my tester to tell the pump what to do and I never have to look at it.

It’s not just kids. I get odd looks when I use my insulin pen at restaurants. But I don’t hide it… no one should.

I’m not sure I like the distinction about type 1 and type 2 though… does it really matter how you got it? The point is, you have to use insulin, and people just need to get their head around that.
