    The brain runs on glucose, so if a diabetic gets too much insulin, it could cause the brain to function below optimal level.

    Too much insulin can do it.

    And type 2 diabetics can get diabetic ketoacidosis, even though they are less likely to get it than type 1 diabetics. D. ketoacidosis can make you confused, but it would be accompanied by other physical symptoms, such as nausea, headache, breathlessness, fatigue, etc. If you feel that way, you need to go to doctor, asap.
