That story about the liver being full is quite entertaining. Not true, but entertaining nonetheless.

You can’t really prevent type I. That normally comes through genetics and so you are pretty much born with it. Its common with children. Type II all you can pretty much do is stay away from tons of sugar, eat healthy, and exercise. Type II usually comes from being severly over weight and eating too much sugar when your body doesn’t produce enough insulin to counter act the glucose.

Diabetes 1 is hereditary, nothing you can do, diabetes 2 is caused by insulin insensitivity due to excessive sugar and carbohydrate consumption. Limit your intake of high GI carbs.

Hi – My spouse had diabetis 2, which tends to come on at an older age when the liver is totally full and not useable any more and then the body has to go to the pancreas for "help." So it relies on the pancreas instead of the liver that is supposed to be working to filter wastes.
A veggie diet, fewer fruits and meats, especailly red meats, white flour, or things made from it – i.e. pasta, white bread, etc. no white sugar or even that much of any sugar- even organic – like turbelino, or honey, seem to bring the numbers back down and the body begins healing itself.
For diabetis 1, it might be more complicated, because genetics can play a major part, but if you are young enough – under 65 years of age – get a liver cleanse from a health food store and tak with your doctor about side affects, so it won’t scare you when they happen. You will be getting rid of a lot of toxins, which will bring on heat, sometimes excessive and through the top of your head. Seems silly, but that’s what happens to most people. You also may feel weaker for a while, so your diet needs to change dramatically, even while you are taking the cleanse.
Then begin a better diet – more greens, (salads with olive oil and apple cider vinegar, less sugar all around, and no white flour, no red meats, at least for a while and add it slowly if you really feel the need. Also cut out coffee, smoking and any alcohol, except perhaps a little red wine. A veggie diet, with few fruits seem to bring even diabetis 1 patients back to normal living again.
Hope this helps you. Larry

There are a lot of factors that cause diabetes. I have type2 diabetes. In my case it is due to two main things. My mother’s sister was diagnosed just before she passed away with diabetes so it is in my family. Secondly I am overweight which is another factor for type2 diabetes. I also have slow digestion which means my food stays with me longer meaning I make more sugar than most.
